We’ve gathered some frequently-asked-questions that have come our way over the course of our hosting this vacation rental, and have put it down here hoping it will be of use to you. This FAQ section should have answers the questions you may have. If not, please feel free to reach out to us via an email, a message or a DM on our social media channels.
1. Where exactly is Casa Mariposa?
Casa Mariposa is situated in Mariposa County in California. This vacation rental is a few miles off California State Route 140 (CASR 140) as it passes through the historical town of Mariposa in the Sierra Foothills.
The exact address will be sent to you when you make a booking with us.
2. How far is Yosemite National Park from Casa Mariposa?
Yosemite National Park is just around 30 miles from the Casa. The closest entrance is the Arch Rock entrance on the western side of the park.
(During peak season, if this entrance is busy, you have the option of driving into the park through to the South Entrance, which is around 40 miles away from Casa Mariposa.)
3. How can I book a stay at Casa Mariposa?
You can look up our calendar and see which of the available dates work for you. You could making a booking through your favorite vacation rental platform; we are on airbnb, vrbo and Booking.com. Soon, you will be able to make a direct booking with us.
4. What are your policies regarding cancellations and refunds?
There will be full refund of your payment for cancellations up to 5 days before your check in date.
5. How do we check in to the casa?
Here, you check yourself in using an electronic keypad. When you make a reservation, we’ll set up a unique access code for you to use for the whole duration of your stay. In case you have a problem checking in you can call us and we will be able to help.
6. What are your check in and check out timings?
You’ll be able to check in anytime after 4:00 pm on the day of your arrival. And check out time is 11 am. In other words, your ac cess code will be active from 4 pm on the day of your check in through 11 am on the day of your departure.
7. Do you allow early check-ins and late check outs?
We might be able to let you check in early if we don’t have a guest the night before your check in, or if our cleaners are done with work.
However, we may not be able to allow a late check out because our staff will have to prepare the house for the next guest who’ll be checking in on the day of your check out.
8. Is there a minimum stay requirement?
During peak season, and high traffic weekends, there might be a 2-night minimum stay requirement.
9. Does Casa Mariposa allow longer stays?
If you are looking for a longer stay at Casa Mariposa, you can book the house for up to 28 days.
Also note: This property is not available for events/ partying. Having extra guests and disturbing neighbors and the wildlife in the area or damage due to partying can lead to serious consequences.
10. Is there on-site parking?
Yes, we have ample parking at this vacation rental. We have 5 parking space and only ask that you make sure to park only in the designated areas.
Parking on the driveway or in front of the garage would mean blocking the way for essential service vehicles, should there be a need for one.
11. How is the cell phone service in the area?
Your signals might be weak up here at the foothills however, when you’re at the casa, you can use the wifi to stay connected. You can use it to make your calls, work if you need to, and to watch your favorite shows or movies on your favorite streaming platforms.
12. Is the power supply here reliable?
This is one of those vacation rentals in the area that has a generator to take over if there is a scheduled power shut down or an outage.
13. is this property pet friendly?
Sorry it is not. We love dogs but we cannot have them in the house for various reasons. You might be able to find boarding/pet care services in the area.
14. Where can we pick up groceries and other essentials.
When you stay at Casa Mariposa you will have access to a full kitchen, modern appliances, pots & pans and utensils that we have made available for our guests. You’ll also find things like cooking oils, salt and spices in our cabinets.
You can buy your groceries from town on your way in or after a day at Yosemite. Downtown Mariposa is a 13- minute drive from the house. (We usually shop at Pioneer Market or High Country Health Foods.)
15. What can guests do if in need of medical care.
If it’s an emergency, please call 911. Otherwise, Downtown Mariposa has a hospital and pharmacies, and they are all less than a 15 minute-drive away. If all you want is just first aid, we might have what you need.
